I’ve got Ants in my pants!

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I am back in the saddle at RoyalAnts and after a weekend of digging in to it’s guts and even getting a little work done on it, I am now more excited than ever. We have a lot of great ideas regarding RoyalAnts and I can’t wait to implement them; it’s going to be a fun couple of months here. Me and Adam are working harder than ever to roll out what we think is going to be a useful, fun and pretty website. Something above all the web 2.0 buzz and something with a purpose, and now a clearly defined goal.

The four of us I think are even more motivated and excited and got some ants in our pants and just need to dance!

An another note, everyone should check out The Sunset Rubdown. It’s great music to code to (I should really build a playlist of that type of music). Now, if only I had a central place to subscribe to the local venues’ events calendar so I could be notified of when they were in town again. Hmm..

A New Direction

Monday, January 28th, 2008

For those of you who have heard one of us spew out the sometimes overwhelming feature set that we had originally planned for RoyalAnts, I would like to update you on a new, focused direction we are heading -

The social events calendar will be our main feature. What you will be able to do with the calendar will range from posting events for everyone to see, limiting access to certain people for a private event, subscribe to another persons or businesses calendar to get automatic updates on what is going on with them, and much more (you will have to use the site for full feature set!). You will also have a social networking like personal profile to attach your calendar to so there will be some familiar functionality.

We believe that limiting the feature set will enhance the user experience and limit the amount of confusion that would have gone along with all 10,000 things we wanted to do originally (not to mention it keeps Adam and Coat from losing their minds with a manageable task list).

When we are up and running, anything you feel would make our site more user friendly or if you think of a new feature that would make your life easier/keep you entertained, please feel free to let us know!

We really feel like we will have a product that you will LOVE, and not just because some of you are family and friends and you have to love it, but because it is something new, functional, and fun.

Until next time -
