Starting Up a Startup - Koo De Ker: Part 3

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Hello, and WELCOME to the third and final installment of my interview with Kyong from Koo De Ker.

We have heard about Kyong the business woman, and all about Koo De Ker as a business. We get into detail about the adventure that is entrepreneurship in this video. Kyong is brutally honest about the level of stress experienced on a daily basis in order to run your own business, but she also explains why it is all worth it in the end. She gives great advice about being honest with your customers and how to get the word out about your business. And for those who are bored by the usual business mumbo jumbo, we also talk about pimps.

Do you have a fashion question, or want to find out more about Koo De Ker? Send them a message on Twitter at @KooDeKer

Brian’s advice is certainly helpful to more than just someone looking to open a business involving plumbing. He talks about how to be competitive, finding your niche within your own industry, continuously staying up on new technologies, and doing it right the first time.

Starting Up a Startup - Bottleneck Wines Owner: Scott Cunningham

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Thanks for stopping by! In this video, you will see my interview with Scott Cunningham. Scott is the owner/operator of Bottleneck Wines, a wine and spirit brokerage out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Oftentimes when we think of a “local business,” we think of a brick and mortar shop with a cash register and a few employees running around. This is a great example of a business that doesn’t have a storefront you can visit, but is still a business you can support and be proud to call “local.”

In Part 1 of our interview, Scott talks about an entrepreneurial fire he had burning from a very early age and how he used that to start building businesses of his own at the age of 24. We get an in-depth look at how Scott transitioned from sports to coffee to wine. Jump over to Twitter and follow Scott by clicking here. Enjoy! Starting Up a Startup - Jared Hayes: Owner of Apparition Ink - Part 3

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

In the third and final installment of our interview with Apparition Ink owner Jared Hayes, Jared explains why all the hard work is worth it and pays off in the end. He also talks about other potential business ventures he may be part of, such as nan-robot technology! Yes, this time Jared may actually be drinking…

Ryan Johnson makes an appearance to take over control of Pink Jesus, and to offer his…One cent?

All kidding aside, the Apparition crew is a great bunch of guys, and an exceptional group of artists. So, whether you are in the market for a tattoo, a print of one of their pieces of art, a rockin’ T-shirt, or a magnet made by Jared’s lovely wife (they are magnets, not buttons like I refer to them as in the video), Apparition is the place for you. A big THANKS to the Apparition crew for letting me come bug them for a morning!
